Frequently Asked Questions

My home's drainfield has failed what will I need to do?

After you pay the service hookup fee, You'll need to have a pressure pump installed to connect to our pressurized distribution lines.

What are the rates of your services?

Our rates in 2024 are $73/mo.  This is significantly lower than the PUD Rate. In January 2025 you can expect the future adjusted rates to also include a system upgrade fund to pay for improvements anticipated for this system built in 1978, and upgraded in 2010 and 2018.

What else will I have to do?

Your system will need to be inspected annually because your systems are pressurized. We will need the inspection report as well as the county. If appropriate, your tank will need to be pumped.

Who regulates?

Community drainfield LOSS systems are regulated by the State Department of Health.

What are your conditions?

We'll send the forms - but the most important issue is that you follow the strict requirements for what goes down the drain! The only approved solids are human waste and septic-safe toilet paper.

How do I pay my bill?

It's easy! Follow the instructions on the email invoice or go to the customer portal. Check the recurring box and you're done! We require customers to be on automated payments to keep our costs low.

Is there another community drainfield?

The PUD also operates a separate wastewater drainfield in Sunshine Acres.

How do I send my annual inspection report to you?

Upload it to your customer portal.

Do you have a vacation rate?

No. Customers benefit from our year-round work to monitor and maintain the drainfield. Each home is taking up an allotted gallons per day of system capacity weather you use it or not.

What if I want to add an ADU?

ADU's can add a whole extra household's worth of wastewater to the system. You must get our written permission before hooking up an ADU to our system.

Will you arrange my inspection?

For your convenience we have arranged a discounted inspection time at the end of June for Peninsula Drain and Septic to come inspect our group of homes.  You will need to call them to schedule. Any repairs will be your responsibility as you own your pipes from the main line to your home.

I've rented my home, should they pay the bill or should I?

The home owner is responsible for the septic bill to be paid.  We reccomend you add this to the cost of your rent.
